A petition for God to guide us and show mercy on the wicked.

Lord, you are my guide. How can I see without you?
I grope in the darkness without your hand.
You are a lamp unto my feet (Psalm 119:105).

Guide me to a place of rest and comfort.
You provide a pillow for my head.
You lay me beside calm waters (Psalm 23:2).

But now I’m distressed by what I see.
I fear tomorrow as if it can kill me.
You say “Don’t worry about anything” (Matthew 6:25-34).

Sin surrounds me and the world I live in.
I am encircled by blasphemers and scorners.
Let me beat my chest and not say I’m perfect (Luke 18:13).

Father, keep me here but make me stand out.
Use me for your glory and righteousness’ sake.
Fashion me to be a unique pot of clay (Isaiah 64:8).

Grow me up like a tree with hefty boughs.
Let the birds rest on my limbs.
I won’t despise small beginnings because of your exaltation (Zechariah 4:10).

Let your mercy even come down on the wicked.
Let the unjust see your miracles.
Let it rain on everyone (Matthew 5:45).

Let me forget their snares and curses.
Yes. My amnesia will dispose of their lies.
I will pray for them who talk about me (Matthew 5:44).

Move Lord, show everyone the power of your love.
Go into the dark places and shine your light.
Let love cover many transgressions (1 Peter 4:8).

Guide all to see your overwhelming grace.
Open up the eyes of the blind.
Blind us with your glory (Acts 22:11)!

Descend on us all like a dove.
Pour out your spirit from above.
Let heaven open up its floodgates (Malachi 3:10).

Pour out your spirit on us and drench us.
Baptize us in your spirit.
Immerse us in water and Spirit (Joel 2:28).

Let everyone marvel at your works.
People should awe at your amazing acts.
You speak of your glory and majesty daily (Psalm 19:1).

Open the eyes of the blind and guide the blind soul.
Put mud in our eyes, let the scales fall.
Is this not what you have come to earth to do (Luke 5:32)?

Make a name for yourself Oh Holy One of Israel.
Let Jesus’s name be lifted high.
Glorify his name and glorify it many more times (John 12:28).
