Trust In The Lord

There are times when it may seem hard to trust in the Lord. When your money is down, when nobody is around, when people are talking about you, when people and family say that you will fail, and when you don’t know what the future holds are all times when our trust in the Almighty God can waver. However, look at what or who God really is. He is the Almighty God. God of everything. There is no other God than Him. Any situation that you are in, God knows it, and He is on your side as long as you are following Him.

When Hezekiah was king over Judah. He saw the defeat of the Israelites in Samaria. The Israelites were defeated because they did not obey God’s commandments. Hezekiah, king over Judah, however, did obey the Lord and all His commandments. As a result “The LORD was with him, and he was successful in everything he did (2 Kings 18:7).” However, during this time, Hezekiah’s trust was tested when the powerful Assyrian emperor threatened to attack Judah and insulted God. Instead of buckling under pressure, Hezekiah trusted in the Lord, and put the matter in the Lord’s hands by praying and consulting with Isaiah the prophet.

Hezekiah and Judah did not have to lift a sword in battle with the Assyrians. One night 185,000 soldiers died. They were not murdered or slaughtered by man, but an angel of the Lord went through the camp and killed them. Think of it! One hundred eighty five thousand; that is a lot of people. The emperor was later killed by two of his sons. This is a tragic fate, but who can truly mess with the Almighty God? Nobody!

This even tells us that God is in control and will fight our battles for us if we respond correctly from threats, despair, loneliness, uncertainty, etc. If we respond in prayer and Godly counsel we will have victory! Our adversaries whether physical, psychological, spiritual, or emotional are no match for the Almighty God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Who are those insulting God today? Those that say Jesus is not the son of God. Those that say all religion is the same. Those that say God is okay with sin, homosexuality, fornication, adultery, lying, cheating, stealing, etc. Those that speak against the Holy Spirit, saying, that there is no power over sin through Jesus Christ.

Live the life that Jesus gave you. Live the life that God intended for you. Love God and trust in him, that He will supply all your need (Philippians 4:19). Our God is a great God and there is none like HIm. There is no being as strong. Nothing, no person, or being can compare to God. If we trust in God and follow Jesus Christ’s example, we will have life continuously (John 10:10).

Don’t Be Afraid

It takes a lot of courage to follow Jesus. You have to deal with rejection from previous friends. You have to go through life ostracized from co-workers, organizations, and complete strangers you don’t even know. It can feel like a lonely world when following Jesus. However, Jesus is always by our side no matter what we are going through. Jesus has told us that He will always be with us, even through the end of time (Matthew 28:20). The enemy knows that Jesus will never leave us or forsake us (Deuteronomy 31:6). Forsake means to leave behind in present condition; to abandon; to desert. Knowing that God is always with us is crucial to us living our lives without fear. Since the devil knows this, he can only attempt to scare us away from the the call of God.

Fear is like a crippling disease that is not from God. God has not enslaved us. However, fear, if we let it enter into our hearts, it will enslave us. In Romans 8:15, fear is called the spirit of bondage. The bondage that Paul is talking about in this passage is a bondage resembling slavery. And even more, this is a type of slavery that leads to decay. If someone stays in fear, they will slowly decay because of the wear that it puts on their spiritual person. It can put us in chains, restricting us from becoming what God wants us to become and destroy us.

Love and a peaceful mind is what God has given us. Jesus has given us liberty.

It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. – Galatians 5:1

In Deuteronomy 31:6 God also tells us not to be scared or terrified, but be strong. Strong in this verse also means to grow firm; to strengthen. There is no place for cowards or punks in God’s kingdom! We are to grow stronger in our faith as a warrior fighting in a war! And the emphasis in this scripture implies that this is crucial in our walk with Jesus. Do not be afraid to follow Jesus!

Jesus Followers

follow

Following Jesus is more important than knowing what will happen in the future while we follow Him. We may wonder about others’ struggles and how that could relate to us, but It is not our concern what is happening  here and there. The only important thing we need to be concerned about is that we follow Jesus Christ. Following Jesus is more important than following politics, news, what people say is going to happen in the future, or even how other Christians’ perils might relate to us, etc. Jesus is the only thing that matters! We are to love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, and strength (Deuteronomy 6:5).

Everyone will have different journeys following Jesus. However, it is not our business what will happen to others as they follow Jesus Christ. The apostle Peter was told by Jesus that he would die like him. Peter than looked at another disciple, John, and asked what will happen to him? Jesus answered back by saying, “It is not your business. What if John lives until I come back? That doesn’t concern you. Your concern is that you follow me (John 21:19-21)!” Jesus was not being harsh to Peter, but pointing Peter in the right direction, which is following Jesus.

We are to follow Jesus with all our heart, soul, and strength. We are not to be concerned about what other people’s lives will be like as they follow Jesus and how it compares to ours. Our only focus is Jesus! He is the only one we are supposed to be following!

Lord forgive us for looking at others and measuring our experience with you with their experience with you. Let us only look to you for our help and direction. And let you receive all the praise glory and honor in Jesus’ name, let it be.

We Are Holy Beings

Leviticus11_44

We are holy because God made a sacrifice through Jesus Christ, whom in turn gives us the power, or better yet, the status of holy. God said, “Be holy, because I am holy (Leviticus 11:44).” We can never be holy by ourselves, and this is not what the scripture implies. God is not calling us to mimic Him. We are already like Him if we have chosen to accept Jesus in our lives. We know what does not look like Jesus in the world today, there are so many things and people the world is trying to get us to be. God is supernatural. Wouldn’t you rather be something supernatural, than just an ordinary man or woman?

God is righteous and holy. So if we are to be like Him, we are to take on the very character of God in every aspect of our lives. We are not to choose what parts of our life we want to be like Him. But we are supposed to do as the scripture says, “Whatever we eat or drink, or whatever we decide to do, we are to do it for the glory of God (1 Corinthians 10:31).” This makes us asks ourselves if the particular thing that we are doing is bringing honor to God or dishonor. It is pretty easy to see which activities that would bring dishonor to God.

Some of you might say, “How can I dishonor a God that I don’t know?” We can’t fool ourselves. We all know that there is a God. “Since the beginning of time God’s invisible qualities, power, character, and supreme being have been clearly seen by everyone by what has been made (Oceans, trees, universe, etc.) that every person is without excuse to believe in God (Romans 1:20).” This God is the same God who is the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. And being in fellowship with Jesus Christ’s suffering, life, and death means that we are also sons and daughters of this supreme God. So we know exactly what actions God would not want us doing because it will go against our very “nature” because WE ARE HOLY like the scripture says!

We are the offspring of the most Heavenly and Divine being, This makes us heirs of unspeakable power and being. Wouldn’t you like to receive this power? Wouldn’t you like to receive this life? It is a life that never ends. The being of God lives inside of you today if you choose to accept His son Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.

Joy In God’s Correction

God corrects those who He loves. If God is correcting you, that means He actually accepts you as His son or daughter. If He did not correct you, you would not be considered His son or daughter. God is training us in holiness so we can be more like Him. Do you feel like you are in a time out? Do you feel like you have been spanked? Perhaps you feel like no matter what you do, you just can’t seem to make things work how you want it. These could all be times in where God is humbling you, correcting you, or punishing you, in order to turn you back to Him.

God’s correction is love. God does not correct in order to only make you feel sad or embarrased or even angry. God uses those emotions to hopefully get you back on the right track to following Jesus and keeping Him in your focus. All of God’s actions are to get us to turn to Him with our whole heart and to serve Him, and to accept Him as our LORD and Savior. God wants a relationship with us. A relationship with God is only possible through Jesus Christ. So will you please accept Him in your life. God’s hands are open for you to receive His love. Like before mentioned, His love is not always pleasurable, but is definitely always profitable.

All thanks to God and our Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit who gives me words to speak. My prayer for you today is that God leads you in all righteousness and that you are able to accept His instruction, knowing that it is only for your betterment. To the God of Glory. Let all praise be to Him. In Jesus Christ let it be.

(Hebrews 12:6-11)

Presence With Us

For you are worthy Oh King of all the glory. Your mercy showers me and overcomes me everyday. Your love is as the arrow of Johnathon. You make my paths strait and narrow. What pleasure it is to have your presence. Before, your presence went from place to place. Your Spirit went from person to person, but now as Joel proclaimed your Spirit is poured out without measure on all people. Your oil anoints our head and runs down our cheeks and beards. Your love is a warm place. Before, your Spirit was carried as the Ark and it blessed whoever was near like Obed-Edom. But now as Solomon built an house for the Lord, Jesus has built an everlasting house for God’s Holy Spirit to dwell inside us. Praise the Lord who made the oceans and all creatures, and everything seen and unseen. Praise the Almighty God that is over all, the Father of Jesus Christ our Savior.

God Is Awesome

God is awesome. He delivered us out of the hands of Egypt! How powerless were they. They drowned, all drowned in the Red Sea. He is that same God that delivers me. Jesus has parted the waters of my soul and delivered me to dry ground. How He has drowned the demons that had a stronghold. How powerless they are! They drown, yes they all drown in the lake of fire. We will receive the promised land, but yet battles are still to be fought. However, the Lord is with us. Oh how much He is with us!

Peace of Mind

We all need things like food and clothes and God knows all our needs. Jesus points out that if God cares for the grass and flowers of the earth He will also care for us even more. (Matthew 6:30-32) Our desires or wants are also dear to God when we love the fellowship with Him (Psalm 34:7). We should have peace and be content knowing God totally cares for us. We should be satisfied (have peace in mind) and should not be worried with what, when, and how the Lord will bless us (Philippians 4:7).
